I don’t know anything about either. But my husband is a felon, and on probation. He apparently has been doing stuff lately. He is being accused of stealing. Don’t know if he did, or not…
He wants rehab… He wants to be done with this. He’s done great for so long (I think peer pressure has a lot to do with it) Because he has been clean for 2 years…
I don’t know if how this will go, but it doesn’t look good. My husband truly is a good guy, he’s been taking crunchbars lately, and he doesn’t remember anything… He’s just got a bad problem.

I have a teenage daughter who has been taking in drugs. This hurts me so much and I just want her to stop. I’ve been trying to convince her to undergo treatment, and I think she has finally learned to see my point. I just want to know what I should do.

That’s sad. I hope your daughter gets better soon. A good thing to do would be to bring her to an addiction treatment center. Substance abuse treatment programs nowadays include medication, counseling, and therapies that are scientifically modified. This will help your daughter gain back her life and help her deal with her problems.

I am thinking about taking some college classes and becoming a substance abuse counselor. How Long does school take and is the job outlook good? I am looking for feedback from people who actually work in this field. Whats the job like?

You can do some limited substance abuse counseling with only a bachelor’s degree. But it’s usually focused on education and making sure the person sticks with the treatment plan. With a master’s degree, you can do more, and address other issues, and be a part of a treatment team. Getting a doctorate, you can do all the above, plus be the primary counselor/therapist for the individual.
