Antibuse is a drug that interferes with the body’s ability to metabolize alcohol. I think it inhibits alcohol dehydrogenase. A few mouthfuls of alcohol and you’ll be wretching your guts out.
Naltrxone is another drug that decreases the urge to have subsequent drinks. Both remedies are recommended to be used in conjunction with a support group.

like alcohol and tobacco, how much would it net the Federal government and would that be enough to fund all the drug treatment/prevention programs? Would drug use go up or down?

it would go way up, since many people who would otherwise use do not due to fear of arrest.
Nobody can say what taxation of illegal drugs would produce, since nobody knows the price or the tax rate.

Family: deteriorating relationships with family; behavior changes, such as withdrawal or hostility
School: truancy; drop in grades; behavior problems
Social life: deteriorating relationships with old friends; developing a network of friends who are using alcohol or other drugs; loss of interest in sports or other favorite activities
