Question by : Who should i contact to express my views on marijuana legalization in Nebraska?
Ive made alot of mistakes and ive done some stupid shit in the past, but marijuana wasnt the cause of it. Ive changed alot in the last month or so, but im still a strong supporter. I just want to make a difference. Im tired of the cops in my area focusing on busting highschool kids for smoking while tweakers walk around town with no problem. Its easier to find meth around here than weed, and i want this to change. Im tired of my friends being busted for smoking a j in their house and playing video games while down the street theres some guy tweaking and selling meth and not being bothered. Marijuana isnt for everyone though, so maybe it needs to stay medical, but its a whole lot better than some of the other stuff out there. I dont even drink because alcoholism runs in my family and ive seen alot of stuff involving alcohol, but mj isnt even addicting and ive proven this to myself. I smoked everyday for a year, then quit out of nowhere for a girl. I never even once had withdrawals or cravings, but i cant quit smoking cigarettes because everytime i try i get killer headaches after a few days. I didnt believe quitting would have been that easy because throughout middle school my D.A.R.E. officer had always told us, “marijuana is very addictive. Once you start youll never be able to quit. So dont do it kids.” Never wouldve thought id call him a lier. They always told me, “marijuana is a gateway drug. Itll make you want to do other drugs like meth, heroin, or coke.” Ive never wanted to do any of those. Ive even seen them and been offered but those are real drugs. Theyll leave you strungout, they change who you are, ive seen it firsthand. Mj in my eyes is safer than alcohol even, and not just because of addiction, how many people have you seen that get high and just rage. No one. None that ive ever seen anyways, but im running out of room to type. So really i just need to know someone high up that i can try to get my point across to. Thanks.

Try starting a petition drive to get it on the ballot. You have to go through the Secretary of states office. You also should contact organizations who are also trying the same thing, NORML (National Organization for Reformation of Marijuana Laws).
