How Likely Is a Doctor (General Practitioner) to Write a Prescription Upon Request for Anxiety?

Question by Matthew C: How likely is a doctor (General Practitioner) to write a prescription upon request for anxiety?
I know that anxiety drugs are commonly abused, and my symptoms are mild. But I’d still like a benzodiazepine for when I need it. Would I be better off going to a psychiatrist even if I don’t feel like I need therapy? Will the doctor think I’m just out to get drugs?

If you are already seeing the doctor and he knows you then talk to him about it. See if you are bad enough for drugs or not. Only a doctor can decide that.

What Do Drug Rehab Programs Do to Cure Someones Addiction to Illegal Drugs?

Question by Gerri R: What do drug rehab programs do to cure someones addiction to illegal drugs?
What does the treatment involve?
Is it anything like Alcoholics Anonymous, where they go to weekly meetings and say, “Hi, my name is John and I’m an alcoholic (or drug addict). Then they talk to other people at the meeting about drinking and why they like it, etc. Then learn the 12 steps and they are done. Or does drug rehab involve something totally different?

Why Are Cons So Stuck on the Idea That Paying Income and Property Taxes Is Solely to Support Lazy?

Question by The Right is Wrong: Why are Cons so stuck on the idea that paying income and property taxes is solely to support lazy?
peoplethat won’t work. Our tax money goes for other things besides public aid, welfare, food stamps, etc. Why not focus on the good that comes from tax dollars rather than the bad? I mean you cons love the military right? How about the FDA? The TSA? There must be SOME government programs you like…try to focus on those. Whining about how single moms in the ghetto with drug addictions get free food for their kids isn’t going to make paying taxes go away.

What Are the Differences Between Drug Abuse and Drug Misuse?

Question by SweetAngel: What are the differences between drug abuse and drug misuse?
My opinion is that drug abuse is taking prescribed medication constantly, being addicted to the medication. Drug misuse i think is having prescribed medication and taking in ways that your not supposed to and taking more than the prescription says to take. I also think that one leads to the other.
