I’m getting ready to go to a 9-month program for music in NYC in January, I’m 21 years old and currently live with my parents about 45-50min away in Connecticut. I’ve struggled with drug addiction since I was 18 and as a result I dropped out of my first College and then failed out of another 1.5years later. I’ve been in treatment for over a year and I’m doing very good. I’m planning on doing a music production program in the city and am very excited to finally study/learn something I have a real passion for. I’m also planning on renting an apartment in the city so I don’t have to commute 6 times a week and also because I feel like it’s the next step in the evolution of my life to move out of my parents house and live on my own.

Spencer Recovery Centers offers a Christian drug and alcohol treatment track for individuals who are having difficulties with alcohol and drug dependence. Christian treatment is different from typical rehabilitation facilities because it emphasizes Jesus Christ as the Higher Power referred to in all other 12 step recovery centers. In an effort to please their clients who do not believe and have not read the bible, many facilities do a disservice to their clients by not emphasizing that it is God alone who has the power to relieve you from your addiction to drugs and alcohol.

I’ve read an article a few weeks ago which claims that getting high on drugs is like getting the best sex you’ve ever had in your life. If this is true then most people who have friends or relatives that are into drugs can save a lot of money from spending on drug rehabs. Now, if this is the case, is it appropriate to say that all drug addicts should just get a hooker and get the best sex of their lives to help them recover from their addiction? This seems to be a very interesting point to ponder on if all the facts are true about sex and drugs. I hope you can also share your take on this matter.
