why do people become drug addicts, considering all the negative things it does to the person, like losing all your friends, family, personal things not to mention the damage it does to your health,I lost my older sister to a drug overdose , its really a sore spot with me….

because sometimes drugs makes them forget about all their problems and it makes them feel good so they crave it and that is how they become addicts.

Aside from the inherited factors, some people have a personality that is more likely to become drug dependent.
– People are curious, so that alone can lead a person to try a drug. We experiment and see what happens. – We are looking to relax and have pleasure.
– We all want to feel good, and we’re by nature impatient. Drugs give us an instant gratification that other things do not, so for that moment or hour of for whatever time-frame, we feel good. – We want what we want.

My family is really low on cash at the moment, and I want to help my parents by finding a low-cost drug rehab center or drug treatment program for my younger brother who has gotten himself involved in drugs. Any suggestions?

I have included links below that you can check out. One has a list of centers affiliated with Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Association. As far as I know, they can give grants to those who need it. You should call those centers and ask around. I hope you find a treatment center soon, and that your brother recovers form his addiction.
