Free Online Pornography Addiction Help: Replace Online Pornography Addiction With a Successful Workout Program

As a person gets more and more addicted to online pornography, their life deteriorates in many ways. Self-esteem drops; they exercise less or not at all; social activity drops or becomes less healthy; overall accomplishments drop off; relationships and family life all suffer. One way to minimize your desire to view porn online is to offset it with something that you want to do more often.

Let’s say a person is getting online and masturbating to pornography 3 or 4 days a week, 1-2 hours each day. If they’re married, they’re dealing with some sort of failings in the marriage, whether it be their fault, their spouses, or a combination. If they’re single, they’re missing out on opportunities to meet people who could help solve their masturbation problem. Either way, if this person is in better shape, they will be of greater appeal to the person they’re attracted to. If they’re in better shape, this person will feel better about themselves, and will thus be more able to make smart choices about either marriage issues or a new partner. And, if the person is in better shape, they will be more mentally and physically able to resist the urge to boost their battered self-esteem with online pornography, and they will turn to pornography less often as a result.

Sounds great, but how do you do it? One thing you definitely want to avoid is to try to switch from online pornography addiction to a workout cold turkey. It ain’t gonna happen. The chances of you stopping an ingrained, self-esteem-boosting masturbation habit in one day and instantly turning that into a successful drive to work out is slim, if it’s even possible to do on your own at all. You make the transition slowly, of a few weeks or months. The best way to do accomplish this is to prioritize. Let’s say the person above who gets online 4 times a week and wastes 4-8 hours every week has some free time today. They want to work out, and they want to get online. Naturally, they will tell themselves, “Well, I’ll get online now, and then I’ll work out after.” And of course, they never work out. In fact, they may even spend more than their usual time online because they’d also be procrastinating the work out.

The trick to this is to work out first. You get the free time block, and you go to your gym or your workout room, and you hit the work out. Try to develop a work out that gets your heart rate up,breaks a good sweat for you, and takes at least an hour (or the maximum amount of time your doctor deems safe for you). After you complete the workout, if you still want to get online then go ahead, at least for the first week or so. But this time right after the workout is a great chance to leverage your double accomplishment of avoiding online porn and accomplishing a workout. Now, your self-esteem is truly higher than it was before the workout. You feel good about yourself. Instead of hitting the porn, this is the time to leverage that esteem and positive energy. Get some work done you need to. Go see some family or friends. Get out and see a movie, or volunteer, or clean the house or cut the grass. Whatever. Do something, if you can, besides hitting that computer. If you fail one day, try again another. Soon your successes will outnumber your failures, and you’ll be on your way to a better life.
