FHI/Nepal – Song Of Hope “Sayapatri” – Promoting World AIDS Day 2009 theme of Universal Access and Human Rights, Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal had launched Song of Hope music video Sayapatri amid major HIV and AIDS stakeholders, media personnel and general public during a national program organized in Kathmandu to commemorate World AIDS Day 2009. The music video “Sayapatri” was produced by ASHA Project/ Family Health International (FHI) Nepal with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Sayapatri- a song of hope from Nepal- is one of the seven songs in “Songs of Hope” CD which is a compilation of multilingual musical stories that capture the reality people of living with HIV and AIDS produced by Family Health International (FHI) in an effort to give a voice to adults and children living with HIV/AIDS, share their feelings of isolation and hope, and demonstrate that we all feel the same sorrow and joy. Songs of Hope is a partnership between the global music community and people living with HIV/AIDS in seven countries across the globe including Nepal. With the support of several community-based organizations, popular musical professionals were teamed with individuals who were ready to tell their stories. With the hope of tearing down walls and building emotional bridges, this music CD is dedicated to our brothers, sisters, partners and neighbors living with HIV and AIDS today. In Nepal, the one best song was selected among 25 songs through a national song
